I'd love to "follow" her. Then I could come in late, leave early, take long lunches, and order people around to do things I know nothing about. I recently discovered neither my mgr nor my spvr have any kind of degree, just high school diplomas and lots of time served. It explains *alot*!

BTDT. I'm too conscientious. I ran a real estate firm with 55 agents one time. It darned near killed me. I'm too much of a perfectionist - to myself and others.

Good point. You should do a study on that, Sophist... The managerial styles of today's managers. Now THAT would be telling.

Here's an example of what she does. Today we are having a staff meeting. Before the meeting, we are getting an hour and a half for lunch. In an effort to get everyone to go to lunch together, she sent out an email that said "feel free to come join our team for lunch today at ..."

We all assumed by "our team" she meant the managerial staff, and no one held out much interest in joining that crowd.

Had she said "let's all enjoy lunch together as a team at.." then people would have responded. But she doesn't get it.

And it was 58 degrees when I came in today. It made it up to 68 before the A/C kicked on. :evil:

There should be some law about the temperature in an office setting. That seems ridiculous.

I had a manager who backstabbed me and told lies to HR about me. He did this because he wanted me to quit. (He couldn't justify firing me, since everyone else in the organization loved me and thought I did a great job.) Then he conspired with newly hired employees to spy on me and report back to him.

He didn't like me because I stood up to him. Big bully. I'm still trying to decide if he's even the worst manager I've ever had. I've had some doozies.

Things like that should be illegal, that's just nuts.

I had another chat with my mgr today, she brought me in to ask if it was cold over here. Hmm, I'm wearing two sweatshirts, my hood is UP, and I'm blowing on my hands. This girl has some *serious* problems reading body language if she needed to ask. LOL

Anyway, I pointed out to her that up until the time I came to work for her (including time worked for this agency under different managers) I've always received glowing reports and am in fact still in contact with many of my prior employers. (Except for that one and he doesn't count in my book) This, to me, indicated that the problems we were having didn't lie with me. I only backed off after she threatened to write me up for insubordination!

DH thinks I am wrong and should be Ms. Pleasant all day and stick it out, however the way things are going I may just end up getting fired.

And then you can sue for wrongful termination. I'm not an attorney, but it sounds like a good case to me. What is her boss like? Can you go above her head? This is ridiculous.

Or get former bosses to call her boss and complain for you?

She's just not a bitchfest, she's like a whole monthlong OKTOBERFEST of b****es. :roll:
