We've had wind. Lots of wind. Wind wind wind! The temperature's dropping today too, although not horrifically. But the high for today was 61C and that was at the time I woke up this morning. It's going back down into the 50s and 40s.

I hate windy days when it's also rainy. It makes using an umbrella rather moot. :?

How long does it take to establish residency? Could he live out here, go to a JC for a year and then transfer in at in-state tuition?

I'm not sure. It's a thought though. Right now were looking at all options. He could also go to school in Philly (Drexel has a great program) and possibly live with my mom. She'd be 86 before he graduated tho :(. And I think she'd bring out the worst in his autism...

Still in my shorts from yesterday, enjoyed the 80 degree temps. Now it's snowing! Insanity.

Goddess - this may be helpful to you. http://admissions.calpoly.edu/apply/residency

I did see on another college website that they allow other things to count for residency - such as passing the California HS Equivalency Exam or the GED, or graduating here. But it doesn't look like cal poly allows those exemptions. Each college may be different.

I am BONE tired. Don't know why. My shower yesterday just wore me out. The worse I feel the better my oxygen is. Weird.

DS is closing at work tonight for the first time. He's saved every penny hes made so far ;)

So far, so good on the paleo diet. My skin is clearing up and my psoriasis is getting slowly better. My husband's eczema is doing better (albeit - VERY slowly) and Elliot's teeth are starting to remineralize. I have a lot more energy and feel really good.

We're not low carbing it, like some of the variations of the diet suggest. We eat lot's of fruits and veggies still - totally got a taste for them while we were vegetarians. We're just focusing on organic meat, dairy, eggs, and produce. And absolutely no grains, vegetable oils, or refined sugars.

Since we've been on it, we've managed to find a few things that James is allergic to - citrus, tomatoes, kiwi, and pineapple. Add that to tree nuts and shellfish. The poor guy was so constantly inflamed before that we could never tell one reaction from another. Now it's much more obvious so this should help us clear up his skin even more.

I haven't really lost any more weight (just the 6 pounds at the beginning), but the fat on my hips is just melting off. I think I'm replacing it with a fair amount of muscle just from playing and being more active.

But it's still early. We'll have to see how this all shakes out over time.

I had to break down and put the a/c on. It was 85 two days in a row with no sign of cooling until at least Monday. I tend to get heat rash. It is very painful.

I'm hoping this is not an indication of how the summer will go. It's early to have the air on for here...

Yeah, I had put mine on awhile ago, but that was less about the heat and more about the humidity. In spring, before everybody else turns their AC's on in my complex, my apartment can seem extremely humid sometimes. Only thing to do is chill it out.

In some places you know it's spring by the warmer breezes, the daffodils and hyacinths, or the daylight extending into evening.

Where I live, a sure sign it's spring are hail and tornado watches and warnings. We had it all tonight, along with a heavy dose of much needed rain! As I write this the only watch left out there is a random tornado watch until 5am. After a night where several twisters were seen on the ground (none in my county, all in unplanted cotton fields) and a brief tornado warning for my county, it's quiet now.

The hail wasn't too bad, luckily we keep our vehicle in the garage tho! It was enough to put pings in the hood and DH would go ballistic!

I'm not planting so much as a pansy this year. We are on level 2 drought which means we can only water once a week. In our heat plants need it daily and we won't schlep out bath water or whatever.
