The Random Conversation Thread (for Casey)

Random conversations should be had here. --And of course every other place on the board. But ESPECIALLY here.

Unfortunately your post was not random, and so it doesn't belong in the random thread - it's purpose was to explain what the thread was so it had a sensible purpose desired from it, in turn removing it's randomness.

This post is therefore not truly random by pointing it out, but it is still more random that the original post....

A Norfolk aquarium has taken steps to deal with a problem caused by a turtle (called George). Basically the centre in the Christmas spirit gives him Brussels sprouts to eat, and the result is the flatulence it caused is setting off the overflow sensors on the tank.

So the aquarium has decided to avoid the repeat of last year and has reduced the water level by about 6 inches to combat the problem... (BTW Sprouts are apparently good for turtles as they have high calcium and vitamin levels, although the side effect is the same as in humans - at least it can be used for jet propulsion purposes in this case)

For me?! Awww, gee, thanks :D

As for George, the turtle, I wonder if the newly added jet propulsion cuts down on his traveling time? ;)

I wonder if this was the inspiration for Gamera :thinker:

That's quite true, despite that it couldn't be helped unless I wanted the thread to be INSANELY random and incomprehensible.

--And look, there again I go being nonrandom!

My hand at randomness: I got some lotion for the winter months. First time ever, since I've never been a fan of lotion; hate the feel of it. But my hands have been dryer this season than in any past and the pain was finally outweighing the discomfort of the sensation of goo all over my hands. :P But it's a nice lotion, I'm quite enjoying the subtle fragrance. Picked up a bottle of Burt's Bees with aloe and buttermilk. For anybody who actually DOES like lotion, it's quite nice.

Not sure what I am still doing on the computer. Tomorrow I am going back up north to see the family for Christmas, via an hour or so in Birmingham to meet an old friend.

I still have loads of things to do before I go (and the meet time is set - I have less than 12 hrs before I need to leave). There are things to sort out, house to tidy and a box or two to fill to take back up there as well. Yet I am still on the PC!!!! I know I need to do it, and I keep rebuking myself for not actually actioning it, especially when I open yet another program on the computer or visit another website. Right. That is it, I MUST go.

If anyone sees me on here again prior to 9.30am GMT tomorrow (Monday) you have my permission to shout at me

Look - I'm a male on a vastly female occupied board. Therefore I would have absolutely no chance in a shouting match or general argument - especailly if I came up against goddess. She would be so formidable, nay - unbeatable as an opponent what with her experience, knowledge recollection and thorough research. :surrender:

First rule of manhood: You can never truly win an argument or discussion with a woman. Even if you seem to win at the time, time will ultimately defeat you and had the "victory" back.... :whip: :fight:

In the spirit of randomness, how's this: I just heard that the vatican has copyrighted the Pope. Although that's probably not quite how they've phrased it...

Wonder if this means people will need to start using the R for registered trademark symbol? How strange...The Olympics®, The Pope®, Diet Coke®, etc
