Lol - that would be pretty cool. And we're figuring if "he," by chance, is a "she" or an "it" (in the green-tentacled alien case) that they would still like it. I imagine a green-tentacled alien would have an advantage when playing the drums.

I'm going to hand paint some guitars on the walls. I think I'll do dark brown on the walls underneath a chair rail, and then stripes above, with the guitars and maybe some stars. Not sure what color to paint the stripes yet. I'm not a big fan of beige, so it probably won't be a neutral color.

Considering I barely remember what my own nursery looks like except via photographs, I don't expect it matters all that much. It's moreso for your enjoyment. ;)

As long is it's a comfortable yet stimulating environment, your baby should love it.

Auburn on the box, more of a chestnuty blond on me. I was born a blonde but went mousy brown in my teens. Now I'm 90% grey and it isn't the pretty shade of gray....

My handful of white hairs haven't gone anywhere, persistent little buggers. At least they haven't spread though...

I am working on getting rid of my negative animus and uniting with my positive animus. Also, working on a novel - mentally. Nothing down on paper yet.

I am convinced, that like closet hangars, mine replicate every time the lights go out

Yours too? I'm just glad I got to 31 with most of my color intact. Both my mother and my grandfather were almost completely gray by my age. Nonetheless - mine aren't slowing down for anyone. Darn bunnies.

This weekend, we are going to try to finish my daughter's room - or at least make a lot of headway on it. We had to stop because the popcorn ceiling was coming down and we weren't sure if it had asbestos.

Well, it does. So, we need to buy a paint sprayer for the ceiling. Otherwise, we're good to go.

Mine have skipped the intermediate gray stage and gone straight to pure white.

Yesterday, I cleaned. I still have some dishes I have to get through today, but for the most part the apartment is pretty clean. And I also cooked, the first time in quite awhile. But I was finally SO SICK of sandwiches, I needed something with my lovely brown rice in it. Unfortunately, I couldn't quite savor the meal as I would have liked to, because I was trying to come down with an inner ear infection, so I felt like crap. I'm feeling better today, although I don't think 100%.

I don't quite know what I'm going to do today. Hopefully get the rest of the dishes done, maybe do some dusting, laundry, etc. I also have to start watching some DVDs that M, my PhD mentor, gave me to watch about some histological methods/techniques. And read an article she sent me on the amygdala sometime in the interim...

A big leap forward in life today (which thankfully didn't require the power of speech).

I email regularly with an old friend from back east. We met when our sons (my older one) were boy scouts together and we hit it off amazingly.

Recently she was bemoaning some problems with her daughter's mil (a real pill!) And I gave her some of my usual advice. She again suggested I write a book, I told her I'd finally started one, emailed her a few chapters and it turns out her sister-in-laws son (nephew?)Works with a publisher in NY, she sent it to him and he wants to see more :)

Which means I need to start dedicating time to it, and keep a focus...I tend to be very stream of consciousness...

I filled in my re-application for DLA today. Reasons I wanted it to be looked at again:
* I recently got some information from NAS (attached doc to an email that had lots of examples of things you could write on the form - things that very much apply to me but that I hadn't though to include).
* I felt that some of the information I'd put on the first form was either overlooked or not detailed enough for them to warrant it important (explaining why I can't cook my own meal - they saw no reason why I can't do it, apparently, but I can't do it!).

So I filled that in, much more thoroughly, and it's ready to be sent off (OH is going to photocopy it first, so that I have a copy, as last time I didn't bother and it was a bit of a nuisance not knowing what info I had already put down).

Sophist - well I put my mind to it and discovered that when I work really, really hard at it, my writing turns out stilted and disjointed! Back to stream of consciousness - that's why they have editors after all...

Benji - it's very frustrating when people don't understand what life is like for you. My trainer had to ask me a series of questions, one of which was "how many times a week do you make the bed?" Never. She was shocked. I get out of breathe getting IN bed - making it is out of the question.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever written anything worth reading that was forced. ;)
