I think he's one of the best people we could have had for president at this time. I'm not a big fan of his education policies, but am otherwise happy for the most part. I think he's walking a tightrope right now and doing pretty well considering.

Generally speaking, and keeping in mind the down-and-dirty of politics that's virtually impossible to get away from, I'm very pleased with Obama. I definitely voted for him and was thrilled that he won. I really think that he'll help make some changes to this country (and to our relationship with the world community) that will leave a positive mark on our citizenry.

I missed his speech today about the whole Gitmo issue unfortunately.

He was OK (a bit misunderstood because they thought he was mad)... its just that a bunch of tea-drinking colonists took the slightest of fallings-out to mount rebellion And then made war on each other after they won their independance

By Shrubby, I mean that leader who blew thousands of people up in the name of fighting a war against terrorism... not to mention his failed attempts to convince the world that torture meant something else...

As an Australian? Not much.

The world is a much smaller place today. Policies Obama puts in place could very well positively (or negatively) affect your country. We're in a global economy.

That said, I saw a cool bumper sticker yesterday.

At first all I could see was "1/20/09", and the date didn't jump out at me, my first thought was it was one of those religious groups calling for the end of the world - we have more than our fair share out here.

However, as we passed the vehicle I could read the rest:
