As the community I've been member of for 5 years, since I was thirteen, is currently in lockdown because of some infighting in the AFF community I figured I'd check this place out. From what I've perceived about this place is that it is abit more on-topic, which I think I would really appreciate, not sure why I haven't looked into this place before.

Abit about me...

I have a blog, but you probably aren't able to read any of it because it is all in gebbering norwegian langauge, it still has a english sounding name - A-spies HQ Norway.

I'm interested in making a community for people on the spectrum here in Norway, recently I've managed to gather up a meetup group here in Stavanger - we've had 4 meetings. I also control a forum, "The Spectrumite" (in norwegian), that give people some escape from all the parent-dominated forums around the norwegian web.

OK enough of the showing off as my knowledge of Scandinavian language is limited to a very few Danish words which would not last in any conversation. However, despite that (and knowing the 2 languages are relatively similar) I am able to pick out the occasional word and guess what the sentance may mean. No doubt I would be wildly wrong.

I hope you enjoy yourself on here, and you are not the only Norwegian on here - there is one other who I imagine will introduce herself.

He is not the only one. AFF has banned several people lately and their whole forum is archived (I guess so they don't have to listen to the outcry).

Hello Ivar welcome to Gestalt...I remember you from AFF and I too find the infighting, bickering, trolling and troll-baiting to be very distasteful. This is a much quieter forum, I hope you like it.

Apparently AFF has come up again, not sure if I want to go back again. At the moment I've been mostly interested in web-development.

At first I thought I would just go back, Amy - the destructor, doesn't seem to be much around anyway. It's mostly just Gareth who's judgement I usually like better. But it was a put-off that Amy criticized me for linking to my website-in-norwegian as I was building on it, calling it spamming. Apparently it isn't a spam as long as it isn't another forum.

It's also creepy that alot of the current active members pretents that nothing is wrong, while the members who have left show off their intense feeling of betrayal elsewhere.

So I think I might be more elsewhere, like Gestalt and the new Ning neurodiversity network.

On the same theme I have been wondering for a while now does the concept of The Knights Who Say "Ni" still work with the Scandinavians, as "Ni" is a word in it's own right (meaning 9 - but I guess Ivar knows that already in Norwegian and Danish). Or would it make it funnier as having the equivalent of The Knights Who Say Nine. Or do many Scandinavians know who Monty Python are to make it matter!?!

Or am I just thinking too deeply about trivial and inconsequential things again?

Has the same meaning in norwegian and English.

The norwegian word "kanskje", meaning perhaps, is put together by two words - kan/could and skje/happen.

I vote that we gather up all the evil Palins and give them to the Iranians. The Iranians want to make nuclear (or nucular) weapons; Sarah Palin seems pretty radioactive.
