since we have so many posts about epilepsy, here's an article about seizures caused by music!

Hmm, music, or some other sound stimulation usually stops my seizures. Actually, my trigger is dead quiet. So I have to make sure I'm not in such situations, like when the electricity goes off (not like I can help it of course though). For me, as long as there is some white noise or noise or something, they don't occur while I'm out and about and just relegate themselves to my bed time.

In my experience it has been nothing that set me off. I remember being in the city and all sounds becoming clear and crisp. I then had the feeling that I was somehow connected with everyone I saw and that I should greet them all! Lucky a small part of me thought that it would not be a good idea if I did this.

TV screens have had me "locked on" to them, I just got stuck staring and have lost time, come back to myself and wondered what happened.

Haven't had this for a while, being medicated now. I do miss some of it because I found it interesting, even though I didn't know what a lot of it was.

Maybe your triggers were just more varied or subtler? Or could even have been emotions. I know for me if my seizures were emotionally triggered, unless the particular emotion was extremely obvious, I might totally miss the trigger not being especially aware of my subtler emotional experiences.

I think anger might have set me off a few times. I also remember once thinking, "What set that one going" and put it down to simple misfiring going on.

Very interesting. I have heard that some people have an irrational fear of music... I did know the name of the phobia but it escapes me.

I suppose I have an irrational fear of certain songs - you know, the sort that shouldn't exist.

I have a fear of Rap.

It makes me feel very angry within... and so I try to avoid it.

I have a fear of subwoofers playing rap. Does that count?

--Well, not a "fear"... lemme see... yeah, "loathing" is probably a better word...

I have a fear of Shania Twain. Apparently she has a house in NZ too. I was once trapped on a bus when they played a whole Shania Twain tape.
