This performance piece is INCREDIBLE.

It took me a while to realise the plot but I agree. Although I imagine the words and music must be poignant in the Ukraine what with all the tears in the audience.

Yeah, it made me want to understand the language and the history. But for the artist's skill alone, it was well worth a watch. :D

A Christmas cookie recipe:

1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup of brown sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
4 large eggs
2 cups dried fruit
1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila

Sample the Cuervo to check quality.
Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Turn on the electric mixer...Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar...Beat again. At this point it's best to make sure the Cuervo is still OK. Try another cup.....just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the friggin fruit off floor...Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in beaterers just pry it loose with a drewcscriver. Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Who givesz a sheet. Check the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the dishwasher. CHERRY MISTMAS and enjoy!!!!

According to Translation.com, did you know that the English word "verile" is the same in Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Serbian, Swedish, and even Turkish?

Why does that not surprise me?

Of course the technical answer is that verile is because it is not a word in English, thus it cannot be translated (and so returns the same word as the answer), but you already knew that. I just though I would rise and take the bait to your joke.

Full marks for the randomness though.... I just hope that you were genuinely having a joke and not just failed to spell virile correctly (which would give you multiple results!!!), but with your comments about not being surprised, makes me pessimistic about this

I've had well over 400 stethoscopes placed to hear my heart over the last 5 years I'd guess. Occassionally I'll ask what do they hear, the typical response is nothing, sounds fine, strong beat.

Today a resident poked in for a listen, lifts his head and says "so how long have you had the murmer and the click"?

Felt random to me. Looked around, thinking I was being punk'd.

Maybe they are related to the endocarditis?

I suspect it is from the infection. Murmurs, etc are a known effect of bacteria in the heart. And frankly there is no way to know how long I've had this.

I think sometime in 47 years someone would have mentioned the sounds before if they were there.

Yeah, that seems more likely.

My bit of medical randomness:

I had my first appointment with a gyno today about getting some treatment for my PCOS, etc., and he said he'd like to do a biopsy of some uterine tissue. Initially when he mentioned biopsy I kind of gave a little sheepish look, imagining thick needles and whatnots. And so I asked him (equally sheepishly), "So, um, this biopsy... Are you going to be using holes I already have or making new holes to get these samples?" He broke out laughing, told me he'd be using holes I already have, and that my phrasing was a new one on him and he'd have to remember it.

It's just that whenever one hears about "biopsy" one usually imagines going THROUGH tissues. And prior to that, I'd never really considered how a uterine biopsy is performed, and immediately considered the possibility it'd just be done vaginally. But, um, ya know... I just wanted to be sure that my discomfort (and specifically PAIN) would be limited. LOL

See now, to me, "nothing" would have me worrying that either their stethoscope wasn't working or I was dead and just hadn't noticed :D

Although, strangely enough, I've had an Intern pull that on me too. After thirty-odd years she turned round and asked if I knew about the heart murmur. I said "nope" and later mentioned it to my mum...who said "Oh, yeah, they mentioned something about that when you were born".

Yeah, you should have heard her when I asked if there was anything else she hadn't mentioned: "Of course not, what a thing to ask! I mean, you already know about the being born premature and the perforated eardrums, right? Aside from the heart thing, there's nothing else".

'Cept, you know, I hadn't known. What is it they say, "You learn something new every day"?

Hmmmm....have to wonder if my mom and Casey's aren't related...

I was 31 when my mom let it out of the bag I was adopted....

Meanwhile - Sophist - hehe - my first question is always "will you be entering through a previously opened port of entry" - which still doesn't guarantee I'll go for it LOL

Did they say why they wanted a biopsy?
