Despite it being less than one hour to October in these parts I will resist the urge to start the October thread and post here instead.

Finally had a "late" morning in - I arrived at 9am and that was only because my sister came in at that time yesterday as she had to take her car to the garage to get fixed. Still an extra hour in bed is still an extra hour and waking naturally is better than being forced by an alarm.

As for the day itself it was pretty much as standard, but it is starting to wear me down the way there seem to be more and more mini "arguements" between my dad and sister. The problem really is that they are both as stubborn as each other and both have to have the final word. Call me a coward but when it starts I tend to try and hide in the toilet to keep out the way...

But I couldn't resist.

I just found out I have to go out tonight, DS has a "Band Extravaganza". He told us there was nothing tonight - that it's next week. Luckily I checked the schedule.

Why can't you sew? What do you need?

I bought a few patterns to make things for my mom, but I don't know if they are the right size or a style you would like. I believe you have a Hancock Fabrics in the city where you live, and they will have a Columbus Day sale on Simplicity, Butterick, and McCalls patterns for $1 each October 7 - 11, excluding their less expensive patterns. Vogue patterns will be $4 for those same days. There is a limit of 10 patterns of each type.

There are several reasons I no longer sew. Initially it was just bc the room where I sew got so overloaded there was no room (every time we re-decorated a room the "not here but save it" stuff went there LOL

Also my vision and manual dexterity are real problems. And the brain aspect - you have to focus and keep track of what you are doing, think through any adjustments, etc., and that's not my forte anymore.

With crocheting, it's always right in front of me, the directions are very step by step, and you can go re-count if you mess up ;)

I do have a Hancock here believe it or not ;). I used to love spending an hour or more in there on a Saturday. They were the only ones to have the frog closure for a dress I made DD.

I would love for DD to learn to sew, but right now she lacks the focus.

I received vouchers from Reed for working over 8 hours now (and I can collect more when I have my contract to show as proof, but the contracts are taking ages to be sent out for some reason - not just mine, though!). So today we went to spend them.

I got a new coat, a pair of jeans (same as some I already have, but those can be for 'rough wear' and these can be for 'best' sort of thing, I guess), some Muppets t-shirts, DangerMouse slippers and Spiderman socks. Oh, and a Nintendo hoody. I think that was it.

The other day I bought some very comfyy skinny jeans and wore them for the first time today, and like them even more so think that they were well worth the money. I got those from Topman.

Other than that this weekend has been/will be a relaxing one. I'm still unwell. Not feeling too awful, but my voice is funny and I can see how swollen my throat is. It keeps itching and causing me to gag when I cough.
