I am currently helping DS with his first podcast. Yesterday, I didn't know what a podcast was

Last night I played a gig.

R has a perforated eardrum.

I only have Monday as a TA, then I'm back to my Midday job (unless N has to take more time off).

Summer hols at the end of the month.

Still work, work, work....

Spent this evening making lasagne for the footballers lunch tommorrow, and if that sounds tricky/time consuming enough it is technically two as one of the players is wheat/gluten intolorant so I needed to make him a special one first.

Oh well.... Off to bed to recharge a little as another long day is just beyond the sun-rise. :xyawn:

OK - I thought I had mentioned it but I realised I hadn't....

Through a cross between hard work and connections on my dad/sister's side we have been asked to cater for a local professional football team for after their training sessions and so far they have been amazed and hugely impressed with the quality of the food we have supplied, and a massive improvement for where they got it from last season. It is mainly cold things but there is the occasional hot thing as well such as the lasagne (mentioned above), spag bol or chicken curry etc. It is looking good....

How did R get a perforated eardrum Benji? I hope she feels better soon.

Kevin, that is really good :) . Do you run a catering business?

Today I don't have plans, I don't think I usually do much on the fourth. I'm enjoying my first "relaxation day" in some time though. I finally finished reading "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" and am starting to read "How We Decide." I also watched some Dr. Who. Yesterday I did a lot of cleaning and finally organized my closet, and then watched several episodes of Battlestar Galactica with my friend at his house. I am almost done with the first season of that, now. Tomorrow (I think) I am helping a friend do some moving, and am going to work on some art, then the rest of the week is work stuff. I am also planning to go to a new "Shyness and Social Anxiety" meetup that is local to me on Tuesday evening. It's much nearer by than the Boston one so it will be easier to attend.

I am supposed to get a CT scan of my jaw done on Wed. morning, as well, but I think I'm going to have to push it back or cancel it again. My doctor seems to have given me a slip for the wrong type of scan and I can't get ahold of him to discuss this : / . I spoke to him once about it and he said the radiologist should do what they feel is the right type of scan (which is not the kind he ordered on his slip), and the imaging center said they need the specific order from the doctor. I've been trying to speak to him to tell him this and get him to fax over an order that matches what the imaging center (and I) want done, but he hasn't returned my calls : / .

She was cleaning her outer ear with a cotton bud, and slipped and it went down into her inner ear. She said that hurt briefly but seemed okay afterwards. I think that was on the Wednesday and she had some mild ear pain but because she's also had wisdom tooth pain she put it down to that (I also got earache when my wisdom teeth were growing) and it only got severe on Thursday evening (after being at a gig where there was very loud music, which probably contributed, as it was hurting my ears).

Today I thought for a little while that Bruno might have ruptured my eardrum, as he screamed whilst his mouth was next to my ear and it felt as though it had popped.

Yes. I own a sandwich shop with my sister and we also do outside catering (not that it means much but our website is www.teamtucker.co.uk ) which is both cold buffets and hot food. Anyway as my sister used to work at the stadium she knew the players and more importantly the management team. So it sort of went from there - after they got promotion at the end of last season we were asked to do a buffet for them at the celebration dinner which was very well received and originally the idea for this season was to just provide baguettes to the travelling players after the matches so as they still have sustainance to aid their recovery, but this progressed into us being asked to provide the food for after the training after what proved to be an extremely successful trial just over a week ago.

The players only returned to training on Monday but the ones that were there last year along with the coaching staff have all commented how much nicer than last year (with the previous supplier) the food is to an extent that it is non-comparable. Put it this way - the lasagne that I mentioned last week, the team's nutritionalist got back in contact with us and told my sister that all the players loved it and it was the best lasagne he had ever tasted in his life. I found that a little embarrassing, mainly due to the fact that the white sauce was basically a flavourless thick white gloup, but to be fair there was only a little of it (on the club's request) and the players are not allowed cheese (apart from a minute quantity).

So we have "bowled them over" with our start, and they are delighted with it - obviously they were expecting a little time of ironing things out to get the balance right for their needs, but everything so far we have served up has been faultless. The hard task is to keep it going at that level for the next 8 months...

Sounds like things are going wel Kevin!

We had a bbq on the 4th, naturally DH didn't get off (yet two illegals did, sticks in my craw>>>) but we had fun.

The city has been under water since Friday. It started raining on the 1st and continued to the 4th - over 9 inches in a city with no storm drains... DH and the car floated off the road several times. Some farm-to-market roads are still closed. Part of FM2528 which is near us has dead (drowned) cows on the roadway :ugh:

Working full time made me exhausted last week. I'd fall asleep really early, and would wake up early. I even woke early on Saturday, despite only managing to fall asleep at 4am, because I'd slept all through the evening prior to her keeping me awake (she was upset because of her earache).

So, every day that I've been able to get up a bit later (as I had to get up at about half seven every morning last week) I've been getting up at 8am. It's nice, because I have plenty of time to get ready and can even watch some TV or read, or go on the internet, before work. Usually I'd have to get up and get ready straight away, then rush to get there. I hope I manage to keep this routine up!

And there is us who have now officially got a hosepipe ban (In NW England). Apart from this is one of the wettest areas of the country, our rainfall has been "exceptionally low". To be fair this year/last winter has been quite dry, but it doesn't help that a lot of the water that falls on the local hills end up finding its way further south. Oh well (and did anyone else know that for the first time in nearly 2 decades there was not a single rain delay at the tennis in Wimbledon - if anyone really cares!!!!)

We are much more accustomed to drought than excessive rain. We've been on drought restrictions for years - no car washing and watering only between 6pm and 10am. Altho it seem depending on your neighborhood this can be violated daily with no consequence.

I lost interest in Wimbledon years ago.

DH has been quite stressed as his company has lost their contract with the store he's at and the new company is taking over this month sometime. Of course hi boss hasn't said a word, jackass. Supposedly the mgrs at his store said they want him to stay on and part of the bid deal was that they could keep him but no one's talked to him or asked for his number.

Luckily I am painfully frugal, so we could make it probably 2 months without his income if it comes to that.
