Today is DD's birthday. She is excited on several fronts. First, she's turning 10, so she hit the big double-digit mark which she's been longing for LOL. Secondly, as she informed us, she's now officially a tween. Like the terrible two's weren't bad enough, they have to invent another age bracket!
Finally, she's entering 5th grade next month, 5th graders are the oldest in the school, they get more independence and responsibility.
I still can't believe it's been 10 years! I was at my daughter's apartment that morning waiting for the guy to deliver the refrigerator. As he has me signing papers, there's this sound of running water next to me. He books out of there, I turn, and here my daughter's water had broken!
I got to see DD come in to the world, screaming her head off from day one LOL.
I recently had occassion to look at the adoption order, and it was done when she was four and a half. I remember how frantic I was to get the house spotless before the home inspection. I was so proud when I read it, "home was scrupulously clean in all areas". LOL. Now we are just clean enough to be safe some days!!
Well, now I have a 10 and 14 year old, soon to be 15. Time takes no vacations...
