Counseling

Postby aslex on Mon Jul 16, 2012 8:09 pm

Hello! I have a counseling session tomorrow and I am unsure what to expect. I am nervous about how I am going to come across, as my problems, for a NT person, may seem insignificant. I have had no major trauma, my problems lie in having trouble with day to day activities and the anxiety that comes from that, and social anxiety.

Does anybody have any advice, or examples of how therapy was successful for them and how?

Thank you :)

The most important thing is whether or not you click with this therapist. Mainly because this is a person you'll have to learn to trust and confide in if the therapeutic relationship is to be successful. So basically, after having 2-3 sessions, ask yourself whether you like your therapist. If you are still uncertain, that may be a red flag to consider seeking another therapist.

Good luck!
