Can I trust anyone here that what I say stays between me and the professional I talk with?

Right now, I don't know what professionals actually do browse this subforum. Perhaps none at the moment. But if in future some do, I would hope they hold to the confidentiality that is requested here.

So, Lobo Rojo, it is not a guarantee that what information you give here will remain confidential as it does rely on the honor system. However, any professional in the area of autism research or treatment would have great incentive to keep confidentiality since such respect is imperative to their professional positions and their goals.

If there is information which could be potentially damaging to you if it got out, then I would recommend not posting it here but talking about it somewhere more private (i.e., not the open internet).

I have subsribed to this topic and yet I did not get any notification into my e-mail box that you had answered it. What is going wrong?
Thanks for the answer then. I had understood that there were actually pros here whom you could talk to on a private basis like consultation without others reading it.

Same for the topic Private matters, and yet anyone can go in and read the psotings, so why is it called private matters?

Not everyone can read it, Lobo Rojo.

Hmm, I'm not exactly sure. That is a feature I don't use on here so I'm not especially familiar with it. Let me get in touch with our techie.

Unfortunately no. This is a community which does tend to have a psychology/neurology/medicine focus, but the vast majority of the forum members are lay people. There are a few researchers who have joined in the past, mainly to request permission to post requests for online research participation; however, most of them are inactive except for the Research subforum.

It is a forum that is available to view by administrator permission only. You can see it, read, and post in it because I went into the Administration Panel and specifically gave you permission to view the subforum. It can only be viewed, read, and posted in by other forum members who have also been given permission to view it.

Hi loborojo,

Can you check any junk or spam mailboxes that you have to see if the emails are going there? It is possible that it was filtered or deleted as junk either through your email program, server, isp, or local network. Other than that, I am not sure why you would not be receiving the emails assuming that your email address and subscription settings are correct.

that's done...I was mistaken, as I have registered with a different e-mail adress. I would like to change my adress but I cannot see an option to do that in my profile

In the User Control Panel, click on "profile" and then on the left there is a further list of options. The one you want is the bottom of the 4 - "Edit account settings". Then it is a case of putting in your new email address (twice) and your password to confirm, then press "submit".

I hope that is alright for you.
