From what I've read/heard they weren't even in N. Korea, they were taken across the border and then arrested.

This Current TV show is the brain child of Al Gore (unlike the internet, hehe....that one will never die...). The other night, the host was Russell Brand - a rather quirky English comedian of sorts. The show is up and down, some good, some bad, nothing great so far.

I can't imagine prison in N. Korea is a pleasant thing. It was clearly a result of a kangaroo court....a shame for two innocent reporters.

Firstly, part of the Chinese border is disputed, so it is hard to say for sure - they may have been in what they (and even China) thought was China, but N Korea believe it is their territory, so it can get complicated.

Secondly, N Korean prisons are not good - they are forced labour camps where they routinely fail to get enough sustenance to maintain life and general treatment is very bad.

Thirdly, I note referring to Brand as a "comedian of sorts". Already knowing and agreeing with Mr Nocti's view on him from earlier comments about him, I would not even use the word comedian. He is just someone who uses vile and crude ideas to attempt to portray humour, often by offending someone in the process. He got sacked by the BBC for such a stunt leaving obscene messages on Andrew Sachs (Manuel of Fawlty Towers fame) voicemail after Sachs had not been contactable for an interview. He then went ahead and had this all broadcast on his programme.
