And why did she think it was a good idea to call her son "Track". Hmm Track Palin, sounds like a maintenance job at an sports stadium.

LOL  Along with moose and baby seals?

I was joking around the other day, saying I heard she hunts baby seals, eats them raw, and then makes fur coat out of 'em.

Which reminds me of a bumper sticker someone told me about:

Nuke gay baby seals for Christ

To be fair to her, she was only telling the truth. If Georgia was admitted as a NATO member then part of the NATO agreement is that an attack on any member state will be deemed as an attack on all the member states and as such the country is obliged to help to defend the state under attack. In that case it would mean defending Georgia against Russia. So technically it would not be here choice to "go to war" and whatever the administration the problem and obligation would be the same.

But Russia's part of NATO isn't it? And Georgia was the instigator.

I realize it's part of NATO. But the fact she talked about war so willingly, as opposed to diplomacy or other actions like economic sanctions... that was the scary part.

Russia is not a NATO member. And legally Georgia was not the instigator as its troops only acted within its own international borders, entering a region of the country of Georgia which had been trying to break away. What Russia objected to was not the border, which it accepted, but that a lot of the people whom were being attacked were Russian nationals (being born in USSR and Russia before it split up) and had always stated it would take any measure necessary to protect its people.

I think the problem is it was irresponsible of her to make one of her first public announcements to be "hey, we'll go to war with Russia". These are not decisions she makes unilaterally, and she needs to start off with more of a soft sell - if war is her first go to plan, I think she's spent too much time with a gun in her hands. (The foregoing is my personal opinion so please don't take offense, just disagree if you so choose).

I wish Obama had chosen Hilary, but he didn't. My husband and I had a huge disagreement - he felt that the Hilary supporters would all go over to the Palin camp. I told him American women are smarter than that, Sarah Palin is no Hilary Clinton, and they wouldn't support her just because she's female.

American women have let me down. Again. :ugh: I guess all those PTA president wanna' be's are living vicariously through Palin.

At this point I have zero confidence in Palin. I ask myself "would I want to live next door to this woman?" and I say "hell, no!" I sure as hell don't want her for president if McCain dies in office. Talk about scary - that would be scary. I would, however, love to have Obama for my next door neighbor. I think we need Obama (I mean NEED, a black president such as Obama - it would be the greatest healing force our country could ever have and our country needs healing NOW) and I have always loved Biden. However, I think my heart would actually break - our national heart would break, if Obama were to be assassinated, and it is all too likely that assassination attempts will be made :( :sob:

ruth, unfortunately I think you're right. I really do fear for Obama if he's elected. Especially since I'd imagine the people WANTING him assassinated would be those in government-- not lone gunmen.

Obama is talking about making a LOT of changes, which for one thing aren't gonna go over well with the oil execs, not to mention insurance companies, pharmaceuticals, etc. Those are all huge businesses and I for one don't count myself so naive to think the government and various businesses wouldn't try to have him taken out.

It's a depressing thought, but I think if they're not able to buy him out or threaten him into doing what they want him to do during his presidency, then he'll either be taken out or he won't be allowed to do anything productive.

The days of responsible government are over (if they ever existed). We have a political/business mafia running our country and they make up their own rules. And I honestly don't put anything past them.

As for Hilary versus Biden, I prefer Biden. I don't like that Hilary seems to be in the pockets of the pharmaceutical companies. Such ties would inevitably hinder any "national health care" changes Obama would try to make.

I still want him elected, even though I think it's dangerous. But I can't imagine he's unaware of the danger he is putting himself in and has still accepted the nomination.

I was watching CNN today and they showed Obama speaking surrounded by his current advisors, who were, um, Clinton's advisors. And even the clearly biased announcer had to admit that the crew there during the Clinton administration ran the only financially responsible time period in YEARS - remember we had a budget SURPLUS?! How cool was that....jobs for those who wanted to work, affordable housing....I know alot of people don't like Clinton but you can't argue with the facts. Quite frankly, every President (and many typical men) have "outside interests"; heck, J. Edgar Hoover ran the FBI and changed into women's clothes at night..........
