Adam - a new film about a guy with Asperger's syndrome

Information about it here: http://www.foxsearchlight.com/adam. It is a romantic comedy about Adam, a handsome but odd man, played by the British actor Hugh Dancy, who meets Beth, a beautiful and brainy writer.

I would like to see this movie as well. Don't know where it will show in Australia, though.

I guess you have to wait until it is out. If you try and download movie files and such before they are released you are almost guaranteed to get something you don't want.

I hope it comes out on the big screen here but I am not counting on it.

I have seen that one of the main UK cinemas is showing it, but that does not mean at everyone of their cinemas, but it is on their release list so there is a chance....

Yes I guess so Renaeden haha. Sometimes people post camrips or prereleases, though. I guess I'm used to anime which is always getting posted onto the internet due to demand in the US and other countries and looser licensing laws in Japan.

If you do end up getting it Civet, let us know. We'll be trying to download it also. I'm not seeing any movies in the theater while pregnant (past 18 weeks at least) because they're too loud for the baby, but I definitely want to see this one.

Is it harmful for unborn babies to go to a movie theater?

I will let you know if I find the link. If the movie will be released in limited theaters it's very unlikely it will be around here which is why I wanted to try to find it.

I hadn't thought of that before, but I suppose it would be an uncomfortable noise level for a baby (even unborn) - you wouldn't take a newborn to the cinema, after all.

When my mum was pregnant with me, she dropped a plate in the sink, and although she was prepared for the noise and it didn't make her jump, it made me jump.

Gosh - so FEW expectant moms take that into account...I see them with huge bellies at fireworks shows - the concussive effects must be horrible for the baby... The baby starts to hear at about four months in utero....

A nurse "woke" DS up with a buzzer against my belly when they were doing an ultrasound - I nearly smacked her (probably would have if I could have gotten up without help!).

I tried to reply to this before, but the board ate my post at work. Grrr...

Anyway - sorry for not responding to your question, Civet - I didn't see it before today. But yes - Benji and Goddess are both right.

I guess I'm being extra cautious since I already have very sensitive hearing and can only imagine what kind of hearing the baby has. I know there's a lot of fluid in there which acts as a sound buffer, but it's best to be careful.

I can't imagine the pregnant women that go to action movies. There are generally so many sudden sounds -- that has to be horribly scary.
